Ground zero can be traced back to Spring semester '2021 (undergrad-Freshman year). Health was not at all on the radar. My major was in music studies. All students had to take "Health." The professor that taught the nutrition material of the class was John Bagnulo PhD. Dr. Bagnulo spoke passionately about nutrition and was able to convey a complex topic in a way that could be appreciated and understood by people with little scientific background. This encounter would motivate me to take 2 nutrition courses with Dr. Bagnulo.
By my Junior year, I realized my calling was in the health sciences. This led me to move to Washington (from Maine) to do a MS Nutrition research at Bastyr University (Washington).
Originally, my plan was to eventually do into Naturopathic medicine or acupuncture, but wanted to have nutrition as my foundation. During my time at Bastyr, I considered pursuing a PhD in nutrition. However, I decided that a research career didn't involve much in the way of direct human interaction. I wanted to help people more directly. Some two years after grad school (from fallout of deciding against enrolling in acupuncture school), I discovered massage therapy. After researching about the therapeutic potential of massage therapy, I decided to pursue it. I fell in love with it. Physical medicine ended up becoming a passion.
My passion for nutrition was reborn upon the discovery of the Precision® Nutrition coaching approach. In it, I saw a practical approach to helping people realize a myriad of nutrition founded goals. In doing so, it helped me to get back on track also.
We'd love to hear from you.
